First release of my modular rack system. Very plain at this current stage, only empty modules and bricks.
You will need to understand basic CAD to get use out of the system at this stage. The included STEP file only includes blank modules.
If you just need a basic 5U rack or similar, then this system probably isnt worth your time. Just being honest. The big advantage of this system is how customizable it is
Currently a 30cm print volume is needed to print the top and bottom.
While it is sized to use standard 10 inch rack components, the system is most useful with custom printed components like the ones I designed for my CNC controller.
What is it?
The Rackfinity system uses a system of blocks linked via threaded rod to build racks of different sizes
It also includes optional Gridfinity integration for the top, and ikea SKADIS boards on the size, although currently only 1 size of SVG is included.
Current basic hardware needed is:
M6 rod + nuts for the corners
M5 nuts for the columns
OR
m5 heat set inserts

The system comes with two block varieties, either heat set insert or a regular nut + spacers variety.
The system also allows for subdivision which is something that sets it apart from commercial offerings:
Here I used these sub divisions to use the space more efficiently and add a panel of buttons to the right of the monitor.
The system also uses a unique set of ribs to more properly support the components, giving them support at the front and back of the rack. This makes instalation of parts easy and helps support heavy modules.
The system is open source and currently there are no specific modules released, however there is a STEP file with some different sized blanks included.
Included in the STEP file is a range of blank components that are pretty easy to edit.
These include two varieties of inserts, with thick and thin walls.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
