I have tried to do the same, only putting the keystones on this model:

it seems like I'm unable to wrap my head around how CAD programs work, since I can't get it to work at all. Could anyone help me out with the Remix, or point me to some CAD tutoreials which doesn't focus on drawing objects from scratch.

I agree with @Spekkie3D_1538 -- great remix.
FWIW, the description might need more precision on the specific variants that fit and *don't* fit well.
The HP EliteDesk 705 G4 DM has a square, not round, bump on its base so unfortunately it doesn't fit correctly in the opening in the bottom of the tray. You can force fit it in, but there's a bulge where the plastic is bent & stretched to accommodate.
Now this is making a functional remake! Excellent usage of keystones.
