ESP8266 NodeMCU

114x WS2812B RGB LEDs
(60 LEDs/m, self-adhesive)

30AWG Silicone Wire

MicroUSB Cable

5V 1A USB Power Supply

The letter plate might need to be mirrored during printing, depending on which surface you want as the front.

Software:
The project uses the ESP32 WordClock software by SPSundTechnik.

Assembly Instructions:

Soldering the LED Strips
Connect the LED strips in series:

  • The DOut (Data Out) of one strip connects to the DIn (Data In) of the next strip.

Connecting to the NodeMCU

  • LED+ connects to the Vin output of the NodeMCU.
  • LED GND connects to GND on the NodeMCU.
  • LED Din connects to D6.

Level Shifter (Optional)
The LEDs work without a level shifter (3.3V to 5V) on the D6 output with this module and LEDs.
If you experience issues, consider using a level shifter.
