Needed an inexpensive way to make a latch for a set of tube doors I made for a Jeep Wrangler (TJ). Similar uses would work too, like for a gate or something you have access to press the button. I designed these to be able to push to close without needing to push the button. You will need a small spring for the mechanism on the inside. I got mine out of the set you can get at Harbor Freight. A couple 4-40 screws or near equivalent metric screws are required and I believe a 1/4-20 screw for the center pivot. Holes are small so you can drill and tap. Obviously do not depend on these latches keeping the doors closed in a roll over or similar event off roading. Always wear a seat belt. I included the mount but I didn't like it and just welded a plate with matching holes. If you are fabricating similar tube doors I'm sure you can figure out a better mounting method.
