OFRT-8a - Omnidirectional Full-Range Tornado, model 8a, loudspeaker.
This loudspeaker features a single full-range driver facing upward, accompanied by two conical-shaped sound reflectors.
The driver placement facing upward, ensures that sound is projected evenly throughout the listening space.
The top reflector positioned above the driver and facing downward, redirects sound waves towards the listener and can be adjusted in height.
The two conical-shaped sound reflectors have been incorporated at the top and at the bottom, in order to enhance the sound dispersion and sound-stage of the loudspeaker,
and also the coherence of sound waves frequencies.
The bottom reflector is located below a device named "Tornado Propeller”, and faces upward for overall sound projection.
The "Tornado Propeller" is an attachment for loudspeaker boxes, which is a sound attenuation unit that allows high-quality low frequencies in a compact housing.
This model was developed and designed to be built using mainly PLA, and a few metal and MDF parts.
All development was done using the full-range driver https://sonido.hu/adat_pdf/sfr-200a.pdf.
However any 200mm/8" full-range driver can be used.
Each file is provided in "3mf" format, containing the part model and print settings design.
The amount of PLA used is approximately 10kg.
