This is the natural evolution of my original 14-segment display name tag model. Now, you can generate whatever text geometry you want, or a blank template. It's intended as a name tag, but you can also use it for things like store tags.

Features:

  • Unique uppercase & lowercase letters
  • Full ASCII compatibility
  • Automatically centered text
  • User defined + automatic line breaks
  • Customizable width, height, margin, etc.
  • Thickness adjustment for backplate and text
  • Customizable slot-hole tag (or disable it entirely!)
  • Slant/skew text
  • And moreā€¦

Some blank template STLs are provided for you, if you'd like to use a marker or your slicer's color paint function. Of course, generating a custom tag requires you to install OpenSCAD or use a web-based version like MakerWorld's Parametric Model Maker.

If you are interested in a 7-segment or dot-matrix version, let me know. The file is modular enough to accommodate that, adding the 7-segment version would be trivial, but the dot-matrix version would take some time. But the 7-segment version wouldn't look that good.
