This is a sillyshell compatible with standard “Schnieders red hot" sized hot dogs.
Meat Compatibility:
- Red Hots
- Might be compatible with Jumbo Red hots if you are ok with smashing the hotdog into it. It might operate more like a shotgun rather than slug though.
- Any meat with a circumfrence of under 20mm
Print Instructions
STL is pre oriented and requires no supports. Thanks silly!
Assembly Instructions
There are two assembly processess depending on if you want full or half length meat.
Full Length Meat
- Take a hot dog into your hand
- Push one end of the hot dog into the hole until firmly seated
- Place shell in blaster
Half Length Meat
- Using a knife, carefully cut approximately 40 cm of hot dog.
- Place cut hot dog into shell
- Place shell in blaster
Blaster Compatibility
- I have only tested this with the BattleAxe Blaster with half length meat. You can use a mega xl chuck to size your meat correctly if you would like.
- Full Length meat should work in the BattleAxe if you breach load it however.
- Should be compatible with all SillyShell blasters with at least half length, I believe the wildstyle and PBR can take full length meat.
Chrono Data
I only get one shot because my dog eats the hotdog after it is fired.
- Half Length Meat: 42 fps
- Full Length Meat: 14 fps
Performance Tuning
- I believe you will get a better airseal with cooked meat.
- Lubing your meat will most likely get a better release at the cost of a worse air seal, I need to do testing on this but I don't want butter on my chrono or battleaxe
- The factory sealed end of the meat should give you a better airseal and more fps than a cut end due to a more consistent seal.
- I do not believe meat has enough fps to need rifling but I've considered it.
Future Work
- Proper jumbo red hot support. Stuffing my meat into the shell is not acceptable.
- Offical Costco Hot dog sized gape.
