Fun Rubber Band Glider ≈4g

This model is a remix of another glider but I wanted to make it faster so I designed a hook for it. I went through 4 iterations of the hook to make it strong enough to withstand hard impacts. I've printed more of these than I can count, and my friends love them too. They fly straight as an arrow and far if you scale it up.

Scaling it to different sizes is also fun. 50% and 200% planes have both still work and create a unique experience. 

 

How to shoot it:

To shoot them effectively, I have found that pinching the rubberband between your index finger and the middle of the thumb(on non-dominant hand) and stretching the rubber band over the top of the thumb gives the best shot. Hold the rudder of the plane between your index and middle finger with your other thumb on the bottom below the rudder (with dominant hand). Hold the rubber band launcher in you non-dominant hand and hold the rudder of the plane between your index and middle finger with your other thumb on the bottom below the rudder (with dominant hand). When you release the plane, I have found its important to add a slight flick of the wrist to help it clear the holder. (V2 coming eventually :)

Differences of the remix compared to the original

I added a hook to be able to launch them with a rubber band. Also, I reinforced the rudder, which was really prone to breaking. No need to bend anything on this model, it works as is strait of the printer.
