Printed at 62.5% size with a 0.25mm nozzle and 0.12mm layers. Still took 48hours but only used 160g of filament. I used tricolor red yellow blue to get all colors of the rainbow as you examine the different sides. Adding a cylinder to the interior of the bottom for as many solid bottom layers as you are using cuts an hour off the print time.

@EndlessDesignLab
Noah,
Yes, please share. I also liked the intricate pattern on the bottom that still shows even if you set some bottom layers. Since I was using such a small nozzle, I thought a few bottom layers could strengthen it a little, but it is quite sturdy from all angles. The cylinder trick was just determined by playing around in the slicer. It also seemed like the paths are so short that setting higher perimeter acceleration only gives a small speed advantage. When combined with increasing the printer's Jerk limit from 8 to 10mm/s it seems that the print can be brought from 48 hours down to about 40.

@MartinSturm Very impressive stuff! It sounds like you really know a lot about these printers and how to fine-tune them—I’m still learning and haven’t even messed with settings like the jerk limit. Thanks for giving me something to look into! I just wanted to pop in and share the link to the post with you. I’ve also posted it to my Facebook and Instagram pages.

Thanks again for sharing your make—it really is gorgeous! I actually just released levels three and four of a new vase mode series last night and am getting ready to release levels five, six, and seven soon as well! This series prints much faster because it’s triangular rather than hexagonal. Can’t wait to see what you think if you decide to check it out!
