If you don't want to access your MMU buffer from behind but from above, this is exactly the right thing for you.
In this version the buffer has been rotated 90 degrees so that the cassette slot is on the top. This has the great advantage that the cassettes can also be accessed from the front.
For example, if your printer is on a shelf or in front of a wall.
The original filament cassettes can still be used.
needed tools:
2.5mm Allen key for M3 screws
additional needed parts:
- M3x30 screws (8x)
- M3nS nuts (8x)
assembly:
- Place the base on a clean work surface in front of you.
- Insert the four M3nS nuts into the small openings in the base. Push them all the way in.
- Insert the original buffer plates into the slots provided in the base.
- Screw four of the M3x30 screws laterally through the buffer plates into the nut in the middle of the component.
- Proceed in the same way for the cassette panel as for the base. Insert the remaining M3nS nuts into the recess.
- Now insert the slot panel into the recesses in the top panel.
- Attach the buffer plates with the remaining four M3x30 screws.
- To create the necessary stability and a complete look, clip the two covers (front and back) onto the buffer plates.
- Now slide the original cassettes into the top panel.
- Complete! Now you have a visually beautiful and functional filament buffer. Well done!
