This core hook is used in conjunction with a few models to create a brace for patients suffering from neurological conditions. It is designed to aid symptoms such as leg weakness, hyper extension & other symptoms. In order to use this you will need a back brace/belt from an external source as well as 5/32" thick string.

The ones I used are below, I have no affiliation with those products and am simply giving an example of what I used.

The links to these products are :

("Elastic Bungee Cord, Heavy Duty Bungee Shock Cord, Elastic Polyester Cords for Camping, Tents, Cargo, Awning Kayak Stretch String Rope, Marine Grade, Hammock (5/32"×50ft)") https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C3CNBR1C

("Back Brace for Lower Back Pain, Back Support Belt for Women & Men - Adjustable Suspender Shoulder Straps for Heavy Lifting (Black, Large")

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CT3K7N51

Note: This device uses some open source models for the hook  & string tensioner. These are linked here:

The core hook was printed using a generic PETG filament, use any infill you would like however it feels strong enough at 20%. The open source shoe lace hook and string tensioners were built with the same settings.

The knee band was printed using generic TPU 95A at 25 % infill. You may have to sand it some as there is some stringing sometimes, at least there was with my Q1 Pro.

You will need 6 string tensioners, 2 shoe lace hooks, 2 core hooks & 1 knee band. Below are the pictures of how the device is setup.

Please use the tensioners to adjust the tension in the strings in order to adjust the strength of the pull in different muscle groups, for example the string tensioner at the core hook will raise your leg toward the direction the line is exiting it, meaning if the line on the bottom of the core hook is exiting inward toward your core it will lift your leg inward. Same goes for the shoe lace tensioner, if your foot has a tendency to move to one side or another adding tension near the shoelace hook may help with that.

1/13/2025 EDIT

  • Added belt hook to erase the need for back brace, wear jeans with a belt and slide the attachment named Belt Hook v1 onto the belt, make sure the string tensioners are applied to the side opposite you want your leg pulled.
  • Added my own original shoelace hook design which enhances accessibility and distributes the weight more evenly.
