If you've ever struggled to cut a PVC pipe to create a straight. square end, you need this tool!
Yes, you can do the same thing with a piece of paper or even a cable tie, but this makes it automatic and simple!
Access to Parametric files is linked for download so you can customise the diameter to suit your own purposes, but the three most common sizes for me are provided.
TO USE THE TOOL
Simply slide it over the end of the pipe, hold the two tabs with one hand to clamp it in place while you mark the cut, or use it as a guide for an oscillating saw.
TO PRINT
Use your favourite print settings, although mine are in PLA, PETG may prove to be more durable and “springy” in the long run, and I strongly recommend the use of a brim (4mm) to be sure of bed adhesion.
TO CUSTOMISE YOUR OWN SIZE
You will need a free Onshape account. Simply download and follow the simple instructions in the download - Parametric SOURCE FILE INFORMATION
NOTE - precision is not terribly important, but it's best to use a diameter a few mm less than the outside diameter of the pipe you are wanting to mark. I use the inside diameter as a guide. The dimension “#Diameter” refers to the inside diameter of the pipe to allow for a slight undersizing. If you have the outside diameter, subtract four or five millimetres from your “diameter” figure.
