A better 353M Grip

I modeled a grip for my new handheld. There was many prototypes, and I am finally happy.

I got my new Ambernic 353m and settled in for some psx RPGs, but the awkward placement of the analog sticks demanded a printed grip ASAP.

So I spent a weekend designing and redesigning and reiterating and protoyping until I settled on this design. I think it's the best damn grip on the whole internet for the Ambernic 353m, and I can finally get back to Breath of Fire IV in style.

You can see the DNA from the ChronoTrigger challenge SNES grip that I initially based it on, but it had to evolve into its own thing in order to maintain access to all of the ports and buttons. I had to make a compromise and block the HDMI port to get a good grip on the device, but I figure if you're using the HDMI port you probably don't need a grip anyway.  I liked playing it at a slight angle while charging with a prototype, so I modeled that in and added a spiffy hex pattern underneath for cooling and weight reduction.

I hope you guys like it as much as me.

I've got my eye on a RoboTrek cart at my local retro games store, so I'm happy to print you one of these for a tenner+shipping over at my etsy store.
