I recently built myself a Dan Pistol - a compact foam dart/nerf pistol designed by Orion Blasters! [Hardware kit bought from OutofDarts].
The blaster is an enjoyable project; it is still in beta, so be prepared for some tweaking here and there; though your milage may vary.
I wanted to create a few cosmetic components that modify the aesthetics to my liking. Files included here:
"Sci-fi" trigger with a modern appearance and cutout
Expanded rear frame plates - with options for “vents” or “star” pattern cutouts.
Stand-off type muzzle cap. This part requires you to print the front frame included here, and one (x1) M3 x 25mm hex screw and nut.
I've also included adjusted mag release arms. I was having issues with magazine retention, and I modified these parts to have larger/more pronounced catch notches.
UPDATES:
Feb 8, 2025: Have added additional options for a small top picatinny rail for mounting pistol optics. Comes in a flat and 3-degree angled variants. The two halves of the rails will be attached via a printed biscuit. These notch into slightly modified grip trigger frame parts; so those will need to be printed if you plan to install the rails. Have also added revised front frame and muzzle parts, which use two M3 x 25mm hex screws instead.
Big, big thank you to Dochartaigh for proposing these ideas and doing physical prints and prototyping!
