Prusa XL & soft TPU

With soft to very soft TPU filament, the resistance in the PTFE tubes is too high and it cannot be printed reliably and to the correct dimensions despite the filament sensor being deactivated.

I built a bypass with ball bearing rollers for this. I use the 6th spool holder, which is not used on the 5-head printer. If required, you can find a modified spool holder part in my account.

This version requires metal ball bearings 604 (4x12x4 mm)

All parts are printed with PETG from Prusa.

Print settings:

Print profile: 0.10mm
Filling: doesn't matter

Assembly:
The press-in tool ensures that the ball bearing always remains centered in the outer ring.
The press-in tool is required for:
1. Pressing the ball bearing into the outer ring. A small hammer may be necessary here.
2. Pressing the filament fixation into the center of the ball bearing
3. Pressing the component onto the rod on the clip.

Please pay attention to the direction when pressing the component onto the hexagonal rod (see pictures)

Other:

Here you will find my other version with the printable bearings

The enclosure extension will be here.

You can download the PTFE holder on the hotend (seen on pictures) here from Bernd.
