Variable Tilt iPhone Dock. Have it Your Way!

This dock lets you have it your way. You can change the viewing angle and lock it in place. If you are using it on your nightstand you can easily rotate the phone to a 90° angle. Watching a video at the kitchen table you might be at 70° and if you are almost looking down on your phone you can rotate it flatter. Full rotation and you can have the phone in either portrait or landscape orientation. Have it your way!

In addition to choosing your viewing angle, this model is a great and steady way to hold your phone for taking photos without a tripod!

Plug in the MagSafe to charge your phone.

The images of my print show a color accent which MMU users can easily paint on in PrusaSlicer. That accent color is optional.

The locking screw is intentionally a left handed thread. You only need to worry about that when you assemble the model. When you use the knurled knob to tighten the phone angle, use “normal” clockwise turning.

There are 2 sizes. The “regular” size for most iPhones. The “Plus” size for the larger Plus iPhones.

Other Stuff:

• (1) Apple MagSafe charger with appropriate adapter that plugs into wall.
• (2) M3x10mm Hex Socket Head Cap Screws. **
• (2) M3nS square nuts. **
• (4) 12mm or ½ inch diameter self adhesive “feet” to reduce slippage.
• One or two small drops of your favorite glue for 3D prints to secure the top.
• A few more drops of glue (or double stick tape) to keep the MagSafe in place.

** I used screws and nuts that were spare fasteners from assembling my printer. 

Slicing/Printing:

• To print, you will need some supports. These are  painted on in the 3MF file.
• The model is designed for 0.15mm layer height (0.20 first layer) and 0.4mm nozzle.
• Use 4 perimeters for strength.
• Use 20% infill for a little more weight.
