I designed this model for a teacher, for chemistry class. I'm not a teacher, so I hope I can describe it well enough...
It helps to visualize the structure of sodium and chloride ions forming electrostatic bonds in a crystal structure.

The model is parametric and the magnet size can be changed by changing the parameters in Fusion.

The ions are printed flat on the build plate in two parts to make them look good. They are assembled by sliding the two halves together and adding a peace in the middle. I also added indicators to align the two Peace's in the right direction (Always a B+T - B for Bottom and T for Top). it's a tight fit and a bit fiddly to engage, but that way it holds nicely without glue.

printed everything in 0.15 layerheigt in PETG for max details.

superglued 8x3mm magnets into the Ions. but everything can be changed in the Fusion360 Parameters.

if you like it, or in general want to support me, you could by me a coffee ;)
