A jig to drilling holes for blind joints in v-slot extrusions as well as for tapping the ends of the extrusions. I use it when drilling and tapping the holes for 3D printer builds.

There are 2 jigs.

  1. drill_tap_jig - This is used to tap the holes for M5 bolts on the ends of the extrusions. The drill guides are in a fixed position of 10mm and 30mm away from the ends of each extrusion.
  2. drill_jig - This jig can slide to the position you want to drill a hole. The 2 holes are 20mm apart. Lines are on the sides of the jig for measuring your position prior to securing and drilling

I have provided 2 sizes of printable guides in M4 and M5 size. If you need another size, let me know. The jigs are also compatible with commercial drill guides (see pictures) that have M14x1.5mm threads.

You will need some M5 bolts and T-nuts to secure the jigs to your extrusion. Use either the side holes or the top hole to secure the guides in place.

I have only used these with the v-slots that come with a 4.2mm hole on the end. These are basically the type found on the Creality range of printers. I used this for my Ender 3 Pro to Ender 3 NG conversion.

These links are normally the cheapest I've found for the drill guides. Just check for shipping cost, stock and sales. Do note they are affiliate links, but will not cost you extra. I get a few cents for my time if you buy using them. Thanks!
