Adjustable device stand

After seeing several laptop and tablet storage stands that were fixed in width, I decided to design my own adjustable version that could accommodate difference devices.

The only parts that are fixed are the end posts. Print as many posts as you wish to fill the middle space.

The stand is 220mm x 126mm x 125mm in height. The posts are 100mm from the top of the rails, with a 25mm tab.

I used 4 perimeters and 15% honeycomb infill. This provides an incredibly solid feel and may be overbuilt given the purpose of the stand.

Supports

To span the length of the stand, you'll need to use support enforcers.

Cleaning out the support enforcers was the only cumbersome part of post processing but they did come out fairly cleanly using a hobby knife with a chisel blade.

Assembly

You'll need to print a pair of posts for each device.

The posts are press fit into the top channel. The outer side channel is 10.1mm and the inner channel is 8.1mm.

Hardware

To secure the post in place, use an M5 x 25mm Philips pan head screw and an M5 square nut to hold the support in place. Tighten just until snug.

Optional - print out the alignment tool if you'd like to ensure the posts are perfectly across from each other. Otherwise, just eyeball it.
