UPDATE: Both the top and the bottom have been slightly reworked from the initial upload. Battery terminals are more defined and the ‘floor’ of the inside has been moved up by 1mm. Window of the LEDs now has a small ledge to place material (I use the white filament nozzle purge) as a diffuser. Also the top portion is wider to make up for bigger USB cables.

I had this idea a while back and, of course, as it happened to be, (like most things in the 3D printing community) someone had already made it. There were some issues I didn't much appreciate with their version and the remix another user edited so I figured I would still make my own.. Someday. BUT much thanks to user "test3210" on Thingiverse for creating the groundwork which this is based on. It certainly saved me a lot of time measuring. Also a shout out to Madmorda for recommending the battery tabs for the Virtual Boy tap she made some years back. (By the way, it'd be nice to see some more of her projects these days)

The specific vapes I use in this video are RAZ TN9000. You can use many others or pretty much any 3.7v battery source. I have a ton of different vapes that were given to me so I plan on making a spreadsheet with which ones have what batteries eventually.

See the tutorial video:

TL;DR version:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The battery tabs I ordered are listed as "100 pcs 7.5cm x 0.25cm Solder Tab For AA AAA SubC 14500 battery." A bit pricey, but this listing is probably the best deal you're going to find.

The base file I used as a reference by test3210 can be found here.

The TP4056 modules I used can be found here.
(be sure to choose the 5 or 10 Pcs Type-c option)

As for the aluminum tape, I bought mine from Amazon at some point but you can find it a lot cheaper elsewhere. (eBay)

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

I have added battery logos, changed the top in a way that keeps itself “snapped in." I've also improved the module placeholder, made a casing around the USB port itself. Battery terminals now come out through the module portion and directly to the bottom for convenience and to reduce risk of shorting out. Holes in the bottom mimic the placement of original batteries with a section to insert metal tabs. Holes are also added to the pack to indicate charging.
