Tips are appreciated and go towards creating new designs

I bought a nice Olfa AK-4 Precision Art Knife which I've come to really like, but unfortunately it didn't come with a protective cap, nor did I seem to find one for purchase, so I made my own.

There's three types of caps I designed:
'Regular', 'Saw' and 'Saw Symmetrical'. The normal cap should fit pretty much all of the blades and scrapers and such, while the saw ones fit the two saw blades that Olfa makes. The difference between 'Saw' and 'Saw Symmetrical' is that the 'Saw' cap only as one slot so there's only one way to put the cap on, the 'Saw Symmetrical' has two on opposing sides so you don't have to flip the cap. Which one you like more is preference.

While I haven't tested all blades, the caps should work with the following Olfa blades:

  • KB
  • KB4-F
  • KB4-NF
  • KB4-P
  • KB4-R
  • KB4-S
  • KB4-SC
  • KB4-NS
  • KB4-WF

I also made all fitting caps with labels of the specific blade types they fit in case you have several of these on hand with specific blades.

I printed these caps in PLA and prefer to use clear filament, but for longevity and for the spring mechanism to work well for a prolonged time I do recommend printing this ins ABS or PETG if possible.

Print Notes:

Print standing up, preferably with a 3-5mm brim. No rafts or supports necessary.

For longevity of the spring clips I recommend ABS or PETG.
