I was very glad to have come across mkoistinen's excellent PRUSA MK4 Bin model. Very useful for quick disposal of waste filament and minor support elements, in clearing the print bed, and re-setting up between prints.

Printed one for each printer, and was using them daily, (quite happily I might add), before it started to happen \u2026 that nagging splinter in the mind\u2026

I mean, I know I am not the only one.

The gap. The Gap! The GAAAaaaAAaaaaaaAAP!!!
Alas, the gap that has launched a thousand remixes \u2026 (maybe not that many, shhh-don't count-, I mean the sentiment is right on this point).

But one knows that one does not simply COVER.THE.GAP. For it would still be there \u2026 and I would know that \u2026 -blink-blink-blink-

Ok, so modeling time!

The model was effectively recreated from scratch in Plasticity.

The intention was to cozy up/around/under (-ahem-) the Z-stepper motor a little more closely.

Methinks we're there. Sort of \u2026 Well, close enough to appease that one neuron that wouldn't SHUT UP about it \u2026

- Exasperated sigh of Oh-so-SweeEEeet relief - \u2026

I mean, I like mkoistinen's open facing top design, and wanted to preserve that, while expanding the back corner some, since there is a little more room under that motor assembly.

I did not add aligning/fastening hooks to the rail. Why?
Because!
Because(!) -settle down!- people(!), I have covered said rail with a rail cover on my printers (remix pending upload -hehe-), and I mean, come on(!), the thing stays put. Is your printer table jumping around?

If anything, I like being able to pull the bin out and empty it without having to wrest it away in a tug-of-war of wills, angling and heaving to pry it loose, muscle-y sinew tightening, printer groaning threats to layer-shift and destroy ongoing work, as I also thunderously shout obscenities at it for my toil and effort. I mean, no hook, ok?! (I could design it, but I am not gonna. Remix and glom it on, why don't'cha? I am not stopping you.)

Printing details:

I don't know \u2026

PETG'll do'ya just fine, as will PLA and any other fine plastic you can melt through a nozzle.

0.2 mm layer height, yada, yada,
0.4 mm nozzle, yada, yada
(I use 4 perimeters, also for top/bottom, because \u2026 I just like waiting that long)
(infill \u2026 whatever's sensible for you for bridging sufficiency depending on how dialed in your printer is and how dry (yes, keep it dry!) your filament is) \u2026 let's call it 10-15% (isn't that how the other kids are doing it?)

Oh, NO SUPPORTS is totally doable on this one (Yeahy! -clap-clap-clap- Takes a bow!)
