Fully customisable Gridfinity trays to store your (Dupont) cables.
I have been using urish's Dupont Cable Organizer Customizable for many years now and they are an excellent way to store my breadboard cables. Now, I am switching to Gridfinity and couldn't find a solution that looked as useful as urish's, so I decided to take his design and combine it with my own gridfinity-openscad-lib to create a Gridfinity-based system with the ‘combs’ from the original. As you can see on the photos, the result is amazing!
I have included the ones I have made as STL files, these are probably the most common cable lengths. You can create your own variations in the SCAD file.
The SCAD file makes cutouts in the sides for easy access while retaining stackability. As of 4 gridunits, it will leave a part of the side in the middle as well, to enable stacking of smaller boxes on top of bigger ones.
Finally, there is a ‘cable return’ option, to store long wires without having to use extremely long trays. (But it's quite tricky to get the distance right)
Tip: the 6x1 tray is too big in both directions for my Prusa Mk4S, but it fits diagonally!
The author remixed this model.
I used the OpenSCAD source code from the original to create the ‘combs’.
