Hello,

This is my first (but not last) board game accessory. Do you know that feeling when you see amazing boardgame, you want to have it, you need to have it, but turns out that it's a table hog? You're measuring your table 5x times, but each time there is the same conclusion - your table is too small. There is an easy solution - buying new table, but is it easy? Tables are not cheap, but be honest - you're probably buying a lot of board games, some of them come from kickstarter, you have money to buy new table. Problem is somewhere else - space. Not all of us have a luxury to have a large apartment, rent / buy prices are crazy high, so that option is not available. I'm coming with solution, something that is simple to print, modular, supports most if not all board games - table extension!

Important Notes:

  • This project will be developed over the coming months. Mostly I will be adding additional accessories or different tiles, but I may update the core - clamp,
  • I recommend printing this in PETG, it's more flexible than PLA, so lower risk of damaging the clamp.

Dimensions:

  • 6cm on the table - I added space for 3 rows of cards and 1 compartment for resources / coins. This is on the same level as Tile in case if there is a larger (wider) player board.
  • 44.8cm x 20.8cm in the air - resulting in around 44.4cm x 20.6cm space for player board (I added a wall on the bottom and on the left, right, so boards should be secure during the game),
  • supports tables up to ~4.4cm thickness.

Features:

  • modularity - all parts can be easily replaced. Thanks to that in future, when I add new tiles or accessories - you won't need to reprint everything,
  • 2 clamps - should be secure enough to place even 0.5l drink (maybe even more),
  • easy assembly - to fully assemble / disassemble you only need small amount of time, around 2 minutes. You won't need any tools, screws or glue (one exception - magnets, but they're not required),
  • extensions - you can print extensions, that will extend dashboard piece that is on the table, thanks to that you can have more space for cards and resources.

Requirements:

  • about 508g / 585g with extensions (depends on your settings, I printed with 15% gyroid infill, 2 walls, 5 top and 3 bottom layers),
  • at least 224mm x 212mm print bed - if you're supporter and you want smaller version, that will fit your printer table - message me, I will add it ;),
  • 4 6mmx3mm magnets per extension, so for 2 extensions - 8 magnets. They're not required.

Instructions:

Supports - no supports required.

  • every file ended with xX (for example x16) - print X times (in given example - 16 times),
  • Core folder - print everything from there,
  • Tiles folder - print everything from there (in future I will add here different tiles),
  • Accessories folder - this is optional.

What future holds:

  • I plan to add more version of tiles, for example planks, cobblestone tiles etc. I'm also thinking about modular tiles, lego-like,
  • I plan to add more accessories, mostly different extensions, maybe even board game specific,
  • I will add smaller version of this dashboard if someone asks,
  • I may consider creating a storage solution, but this could require redesigning everything,

Enjoy!
