Printed Base with ABS and shade with PLA
-The stl file for base was not correct, the size was very very small, I scaled it to 60 mm. I didn't used gcode file as needed to change the filament to ABS
- I feel the quality can be improved, currently feel very light.
@Sarthak_2522962 thanks for sharing your thoughts. Is ABS good to tolerate heat?
I have modified the base now and will be uploading a new base design soon.
@quickmaking Yes, ABS is performing really well in terms of heat resistance, and I’m pleasantly surprised by how the PLA performed too—the shade looks just as good as before lighting the candle, although there are some black deposits from the flame.
Also, Since you're already working on the design, could you also check the fit of the base where the candle goes? It felt a bit tight when I was inserting the candle, possibly because the scale I used wasn’t quite accurate.
