@3DPrintingDude this model would benefit vastly from allowing remix culture, as almost all makes here are not the original model. I also had to modify diameters to make Pokemon cards fit more snugly in the box. Really good design - it just would be cool to see where community would take it?
Works good. I tried to resize it for magic cards but you have to keep in mind the ratio for the box and slider. The glueing is kind of messy and you have to be carefull not to smudge visible parts. Dowels would and a configurable file would be awsome. In any case funny design.
I've used this for the tail end of a spool which I didn't know the tare weight of so I couldn't predict how much was left, very useful. Couple of issues though; when wound the centre warps quite badly (though this may be due to how I wound it) and the filament tends to jump off of it 1/3 of a turn each time.
Secondly, when I was starting a print, the sample spool rotated sideways on the spool holder and one of the arms hooked up on the filament guide, preventing the Z axis from homing properly until I freed it. I've prevented this from happening again by spacing it out with another filament spool, but if you're using it on its own make sure you keep an eye on it.
@IndaneTrash_1453153 About centre deformation maybe you wound the filament a bit too tight, never happened to me. Beeing a lightweight model is not super strong. About all other issues I appreciate all the feedback and agree with you on keeping an eye on it at least until you are sure everything is working properly. With all kinds of printers, setups and spool holders out there what works for some people maybe is not the best for others, so thanks for the heads up! (edited)
Worked great!
