Alright this project is growing.. needs a new description.
Above Desk Drawer versions now released!
Under Desk Bin / Trash Can now released!
Under Desk Headphone Holder now released!
As a thank you to the success and support that this project has brought, I am releasing the F3D files to let it grow naturally through the community. I can't wait to see what you do with it! Please remember to attribute or upload as remixes so others can find it :)
Also, my apologies to anyone who printed the early versions that lacked the fillet in the top of the handle. It was an issue that was not caught early on. There is now a fix posted by Bryan_F on Thingiverse for anyone who had issues with the delicate handles. I will also be posting a first party fix soon.
If you are interested in using these files commercially, please contact me on here or through instagram @godardscientific
- I recommend printing the drawers laying bottom down with tree supports, or on their back. Either way should work, but bottom down will use less support material.
- To free the pins in the back after printing, place your fingers behind the pin and give it a few sharp taps with something solid, back of a screw driver worked for me.
-The chassis print best on their back, as shown in the slicer photo. You can fit everything onto one 250 cubed build plate as shown.
From left to right in the top of the photo, we have the
- Big Double
- Slim Double
- Slim Single
- Big Single
- Slim Triple
Not shown is the Split Body, which for now is just the Slim Triple modified to print on smaller beds. Also the Slim Stack, which is one Slim Double Drawer and one Slim Stack Bottom Drawer. The Slim Square is a single drawer version of the Big Double.
You can use the Middle Bracket to connect any of these drawer chassis together, if you REALLY want to maximize under desk storage.
To assemble the Split, print everything in the folder, and TWO of the Body Ties. I recommend using your favorite relatively thin glue to adhere everything togehter, then print two Slim Single drawers to fill in the top.
I am working on a detailed PDF like my Club and Store models have for this project, to provide more detailed instructions on printing, running through settings and assembly. Its just taking a while, as the project grows so do the instructions.
v1.1 01-08-2024;
Chassis modified to be printed more reliably
v1.15 01-10-2024;
Drawer pulls modified to print with less support if in horizontal orientation and no support if in vertical orientation
