Creality K1 & K1c Door Hinges Geared Print in Place

Printed 3 different times, on a well tuned printer, still had fatal binding issues at the chamfer between the central column and center hinge bar. Still a really cool design.

@Toastee_2240836 Thanks for the update. I will have to figure out that xy contour in prusa slicer. That's a great tip.

@Mordiev I eventually successfully reprinted these using Creality Black Value PLA & 100% infill, (with the nut retainers still made of heat resistant plastic, cause they go inside the chassis) I used Arachne, but by enabling xy contour compensation in orcaslicer with a value of -.01, this caused the slicer to create Valid geometry, avoiding the weird sticking issue that destroyed the grey ones I printed.

I have not tested them yet on the actual machine, but they move really nice in my

I also have a set of yours that I drilled out the damaged parts in the ASA, and put in steel dowel pins (well... drill bits.. but I want dowel instead LUL).

@Toastee_2240836 My friend Diablo has created a few remix designs that are not print in place. Take a look at his models. https://www.printables.com/@Diablo_1609422

@Toastee_2240836 wow! That sucks. I ripped up a bed when one of the bed leveling pressure sensors failed. Granted the sensor was always bad when I got the machine. So It was my own fault.

@Mordiev no pennies left in my country, but I do have some knock off mitutoyo calipers.

But after a check, the entire hot end assembly fell off the k1c again. Added some locktite, find a better Allen's key, threw out another shredded bed. Hope it stays on this time..

@Mordiev I should just turn off the 5mm
Brim in that profile, totally unnecessary with that particular bed combo. (edited)

@Mordiev bottom layer on the Grey PETG was indeed garbage, but I managed to break that stuff free, it's the slicer induced issue that makes me give up, because indeed, I'm set to Arachne. I'll take a look at generating in classic mode and see if what you say is accurate thanks for the reply!

If you print this tolerance test piece can you insert a penny into the circle? https://www.printables.com/model/238512-penny-tolerance-test-no-calipers

When it prints is the bottom layer wider and thicker than the rest of piece?

Also. looking at the pictures. Your bottom layer is all Smashed together. I can't see the gap between the pieces. You may want to adjust elephant foot settings, increase the first layer air gap, and maybe decrease the filament flow rate to something %90. (edited)

The fact that your printer is well tuned tells me this is most likely the slicer issue some users have discovered. Switch from the new "Arcane" algorithm to the old "Classic". Not sure why but the new one tends to connect the models. You should be able to see the issue in the print preview in the slicer. Just move down to a random layer and look for places where the models get connected.
