17.04.24 - Updated for Anycubic 1.3.2 / Prusa 2.7.4. Several smaller changes, most noticeable is filament cooling, see below for more details
11.07.24 - Minor update for Anycubic 1.4.4
PLA and PETG print and filament profiles
If you're looking for max. speed, these profiles are not for you. The focus is good balance between quality and reasonable speed. Profiles are made for 0.4 standard brass nozzle, from 0.08 to 0.28 layer height.
Installation
Prusaslicer: File / Import / Import config bundle
Arc Welder: the profiles makes use of ArcWelder.exe, with exe location in main prusa installation folder.If you need to alter location of ArcWelder.exe, go to Print Settings / Output options and modify the following line in Post-processing scripts: "C:\Program Files\Prusa3D\PrusaSlicer\ArcWelder.exe";
Delete the above line if you do not want to use Arc Welder What is Arc Welder?
Don't trust my .exe file? Download Arc Welder here
Anycubic slicer: File / Import / Import config - Importing config bundles is not possible in Anycubic, printer, filament and print settings have to be imported one at a time. Alternatively files can be copied to “print” “printer” and “filament” in \%AppData%\Roaming\AnycubicSlicer
Arachne or classic wall generator?
Arachne is not enabled as default. Whether or not you should enable Arachne depends on the objects being printed. Arachne is good for prints with very fine details, but isn't the best option if you print mechanical/functional parts. Any missing details will show in preview of sliced files, it is easy to determine when Arachne is the best option.
Pressure advance
Pressure advance is enabled, with values that'll yield good results for several filament brands. For best results, tune pressure advance to your specific filament - Pressure advance tuning
Update 17.04.24
Some filaments do not like big changes to layer time, Layers placed on solid infill / top layers are prone to bulging. The reason this happens is often due to speed and cooling differences. On request, I've edited settings to minimize visible layer time bulging.
The main change is made to layer print time (Filament settings / Cooling / Cooling thresholds). "Slow down if layer print time is below” is set to 1 (default setting is 8). I've added a layer time bulge test print, which will also reveal if retraction needs calibration.
