Allsky Camera Housing with USB Dew Heater & Roof Mounting Base 

Inspired by the Thomas Jacquin concept i created my own budget Allsky Camera

Printed in a combination of PETG and TPU with 0.4 / 0.6 Nozzle.

The main body can be printed without infill and min 4 outer-layers to provide thermal isolation during summer/winter

Dew Heater

After 2-3 months of experience in Cold Weather (-5C) Resistance Heating is required to limit dew build-up inside the dome.  I detail below a cheap solution using the 5V supply from the raspberry Pi USB Ports; all running over single POE+ Cable. Can be optional for warmer climates.

StarTrail without Heating - (dew visible on right hand side of dome) 

StarTrail with Heating - 4 x 100ohm in Parallel (25ohm across 5V USB output)

Resistor Wiring in Parallel

The two concentric rings can be used to neatly solder the positive and negative leads of the USB cable to the inner and outer pin of each risistor
