Update 2023-11-20: I made a new version of this that tips back the soap a little more, and it has more and/or larger drainage holes. I also added some bumps to help the soap from sticking to the tray. For my shower caddy shelf, it works better than the original.
This is a small soap tray that hangs on a common metal shower organizer/caddy shelf, for shelf rails up to ~10 mm in diameter. I designed this to fit oval shaped soap (Dove, Costco/Kirkland, etc.), but it would likely also hold most rectangular shaped bars, as well. My goal was to make it easier to locate and grab the bar with my eyes closed, as well as, making it so that the bar rests in an upright or vertical orientation (to make a little more room for other things and so that the bar dries quicker). It also holds up the soap bar so that it is not resting on the wire shelf, which makes it less likely to fall through the gaps in the wires, especially as the soap bar gets smaller. The extension out the back on the bottom helps tip up the tray so that the soap bar stays in place. There are draining holes on the bottom and back to allow water to flow away from the soap, which prevents pooling.
NOTE: I printed this with white PLA, but many different filaments would work fine. The model is printed on its side, which adds to its strength, and which eliminates the need for supports. I did print with a brim, just in case. :) I also sanded the surfaces a bit to achieve a better finish, closer to an injection molded look.
