Hi. This quick connector allows for the PSU on the Prusa enclosure to be easily disconnected from the printer by simply unplugging it. It uses ‘Deans’ type connectors commonly used on R/C batteries. Important to note that the Deans connectors used should be the ones that have the smooth finish, and not the grip type finish, The Deans connectors are glued into place with epoxy, and the male and female plugs should be pushed together prior to glue being applied, and that both the connector block 1 and connector block 2 be glued at the same time to allow for proper alignment of the pins after the epoxy has dried.
The screw holes on the connector block 1 (the part mounted on the PSU) are tapped to 3mm, or may be secured with self tapping screws of adequate size. Wiring may be done in any order, as long as the correct polarities are observed. Four pins are available for this purpose, and the remaining pins are used for the ground connection and small signal wire on the PSU.
The connector block cover is secured in place with epoxy once the wiring is soldered in place, and I held the two together with some zip ties while the epoxy was setting. The space inside the connector is quite tight, so good soldering skills will be required!
The additional rear cover is now re-modelled to print in one piece,
