I was having a heat creep issue since unfortunately I do not print in a temperature-controlled space, and I can't leave the doors open (the easy solution) since my cats are just stupid-smart enough to get hurt or screw up a print. So I made my own hex patterned doors to keep the cats out but let air in/out to help slow down the heat build up inside the enclosure.

Parts include are:

  • the whole door
  • doors L and R split into 4 pieces each (labelled + mirrored) to fit on the print bed neatly

The doors have a little ridge where the magnet holders go, so no need for the metal piece from the original doors.

These are intended to work with the lift-off hinges from the remix link below, and you'll need to print the parts that hold the magnets from the Prusa Enclosure Printable parts: https://www.printables.com/model/251931-enclosure-printable-parts

Printed at 0.2 layer height with supports on the hinged pieces, in PETG so that the heat doesn't screw them up too much. I printed in the Carmine Red Prusament.

You'll need:

  • 8x spare M3n nuts
  • 8x spare M3x8 screws
  • 4x spare 1x20 magnets
  • hinges from the lift-off hinge
  • magnet holders from Enclosure Printable Parts
