This is my original design. It is similar to a circle template. The circles match the outside diameter of copper pipe made to imperial standard gage.
This was a tool of necessity. I needed a quick way to check every section of installed pipe. I couldn't check the thread or inside dimension because this was already assembled and installed. I had no access to the threads or insides. I created a gage to measure the outside. I added a lot of extra sizes to my gage.
It was wonderful. I could check the pipe first and not waste time or material trying to install pipes that wouldn't fit.
When using, the semi-circle should be an almost exact fit. You can take it to Home Depot, Lowes, or other hardware store to test your gage on their pipes and verify it printed ok before using.
I added a Rev A for raised letters. You can switch filament to get more contrast in color for the letters.
You can check out my gage for measuring galvanize or black NPT pipe.
