Quite a while ago I designed a clip for my colleges car (VW Caddy).
He was always annoyed that when opening the trunk water ran into the trunk.

We started with the construction of a clip that was attached to the gas springs of the trunk lid. After a few design variations, he confirmed that this works quite well.
