This is a fully parametric reusable egg carton with a magnetic lid. You can customize it for number of eggs in any direction (2x6, 3x4, etc), for size of the magnets, thickness of the shell, and egg size. I am providing the Fusion 360 file so you can make your own, but I have also uploaded a number of STLs for different configurations of numbers of eggs in two common sizes for small neodymium magnets: 6x3mm and 4x5mm

You can make with any material. In the photo, I used red translucent TPU for one side and clear PLA for the other - I figured TPU might make the eggs safer, but I have made ones just out of PLA and ran with them inside a backpack without any eggs breaking.

Whatever customization you make, it's symmetrical, so just print two of them and then add magnets. Be careful with magnet orientation! I have wasted a print over gluing them the wrong way - triple check you are placing them on the right side. If you get your tolerance just right, you might be able to just push the magnet in, but I add .1 or .2mm to mine and use super glue. If you make a larger carton, you don't need to put magnets in every hole, it gets pretty strong. There are notches on the side to help you easily open them.

Just a tip: If you are using the fusion, note that you can add number of eggs in X and Y direction - you can flip those around for a different look and number of magnets - 2x3 carton is different than a 3x 2 carton.

Print Settings:

As for other print settings, the design is pretty forgiving so a lot of these can be changed easily

Print with the open side up with no supports
Make sure you have good bed adhesion - they start as separate pieces and join at the top
Layer height not important. I have used 0.40mm layers and everything was fine.
