This simple rotating device was made from scrap lying around and serves for slow rotation of the electroplated models. Read more about electroplating and using the device in a dedicated article.

I suggest using the Rotajig by XenoArch as my device was a one-purpose quick prototype and is far from being perfect. I just wanted to use the electronics I already had.

If you decide to use my device anyway, here's what you'll need:

  • PETG filament
  • Several M3 screws and nuts
  • 1x 50mm M5 screw and 1x M5 nut
  • 3x bearing 608 2RS CN (8x22x7 mm)
  • 4 mm rod
  • Any 24V brushed motor with a 24 mm diameter
  • Speed controller (potentiometer)
  • Superglue
  • Lubricant for the wheels
  • The rest of the electroplating setup, see the article.

I suggest sanding a motor shaft and gluing the small gear to the rough shaft surface. If the shaft is not sanded, the gear tends to fall.
