First (and working) draft of battery covers for the Quest 3 controllers with a loop to use the stock wristbands as controller grips. Like a cheap version of the official “Active Straps”.
These were created really quick using tinkercad.com and a 3D-Scan of the controller by user Chri on thingiverse, so I'll stick with the CC BY-NC licence.
Duplicate and mirror the model in your slicer to get left and right version.
I printed those in PETG. I don't think PLA would work because there are some rather delicate parts that I imagine would break easily when printed in PLA :/
Also, while it's a pretty fast print even with tree supports (~1h per grip), it took me nearly another hour per controller to remove the supports and sand/file down the parts so it would fit and snap in the little triangle holder button of the controller. See photo with red circles to understand what I mean, that little hole is hard to get right and very important for the covers to stay on the controllers.
First/cover photo and the one with my hand show the way I fastened the bands to the loop,, with a simple knot. You can see what else I tried on some other photos but that didn't work for me.
I printed it in “GIANTARM PETG ab-white” and the color doesn't really match the controller. Still looks okay imho.
I used a resolution of 0.16mm and tree supports because I find them easier to remove, no brim.

Added a loop to the controller cover.
