Bambu Lab P1P Modified LED Mount Original (12/29/2022)

The “Light Shell Files” Bambu Labs provided for the P1P upgrades mounts the light higher up on the printer and thought it was weird the light wasn't really aiming at the print. I noticed the x1 has the light mounted lower and wanted to create the same solution for the P1P. Thankfully, the p1p and x1 share the same chassis so I was able to use the two snap-in locations right above the aux fan to snap the bracket in place ( benefit of  being removable instead of  taped in place).

Print Orientation

Same print orientation as the file from Bambu, just need to add supports to the tabs that overhang. I used the standard p1p setting for a .4 nozzle and .2 layer height, printed in eSUN PLA+. Not sure how PLA will hold up strength wise, regarding the small tabs, but I had no breakage removing the bracket multiple times with PLA+.

Notes:

  • The two slots on the inside of the tabs are there to clear the head of the screws that mount to the fan. Bambu supplied  double sided tape for the aux fan install but you can remove the two top screws on the fan and switch them with the two longer screws that are used to attached the fan to the mounting bracket ( you need the longer screw length to mount through the top).
  • If you switch the screws around on the fan, you'll need to add m3 washers to the shorter screws (removed from the top of the fan) when used to attached the fan to the printable bracket.
  • Works with the lens print from Bambu
