Replace noisy hot end fan on the Sprite Extruder with a quiet 5015 blower fan.

This is a remix of the Ender 3 S1 Hotend Fan 4020 Replacement Bracket.

This remix mounts a 5015 blower fan instead of the 4020 blower and is further offset from the gantry so that it will clear the x-axis enclosure on Ender 3 Pro and other similar printer models.  This remix is also designed to snap a 5015 blower fan into the housing without the need of hardware.

If there is a desire to secure the fan into the bracket, you will need to use 1 or 2 M3x18 screws depending on the bracket you choose.  I only had M3x20 screws lying around, so I added a hex nut to mine to shorten the threads.  For the 2-screw fan bracket, no hardware is necessary as the fan will snap tightly into the bracket.

July 10, 2023 update:  I uploaded 2 new versions of the fan mount with a reduced corner to be out of the way of the filament lever.

What to Print:

  • backplate-sprite
  • Choose either 1 screw or 2 screws fan mount:
      a. fanmount-1screw.v2 - smaller profile, less materials
      b. fanmount-2screws.v2 - adds an extra screw mount for a tighter fit

Hardware:

  • 1 x 5015 blower fan.  I use these types: https://a.co/d/0GwO1du
  • 1 x JST-GH connector (1.25mm pitch) or splice/solder the old one to the new fan
  • 2 x M3x18mm screws (optional) to secure the fan to the bracket
  • 1 buck converter (optional) if you want to use a 12v or 5v blower vs 24v

Printing Suggestions:

  • Support:  Not required
  • Layer Height: 0.2mm
  • Filament Type:  PLA or PETG
