Recently I got a Miyoo Mini Plus to play all my retro games. I got the console in white and started customizing it. The main point was to get an orange - yellow color fade using Montana Gold Spray paints.
I found the awesome flip case by @NathanKean_348806 but I wanted to change the style a bit. Also, due to the different coats of spraypaint, my Miyoo Mini Plus did no longer fit. To fix this I needed to make some changes.
Changes made:
- Added a different front (Miyoo Mini Style)
- Printed the model at a 101% scale to fit my custom painted Miyoo Mini Plus.
Printing the case:
By printing the model a bit bigger my custom Miyoo Mini Plus fits perfectly.
If you have not painted your Miyoo Mini Plus, print the file as is (100% size)
Printed without support with the top part lying down, front design facing print bed.
Constructing the case:
Extra parts needed: 2mm x ~84mm metal rod* is used.
To install the rod: Heat up the rod in some hot water and if need pre-drill the holes in the top and bottom part with a 2mm drill bit. Then use a hammer (carefull ) to push the rod in place while the case is closed.
*I got the metal rod from a RC car webshop; seemed to be a stearing rod.. but be creative and find what works best for you!
Items used for painting the Miyoo Mini Plus:
Montana Plastic Primer - T2000
Montana Gold Shock Yellow Light - S1000
Montana Gold Shock Orange Light - S2000
Montana Varnish Semi-Gloss - T1005
Extra's:
This model should still have enough room for an additional felt inlay you can stick on the inside of the top piece to protect the screen.
Printed on a Prusa MK4 using Prusament Galaxy Black PLA using default settings.
The author remixed this model.
Changes made:
- Added a different front design to the top cover (Miyoo Mini Style)
