A clicker is an archery bow accessory that makes an audible click when the arrow is drawn past the clicker.  This helps archers keep their draw length consistent, and it helps them mentally execute a consistent release by triggering their shot.  However, adjusting the clicker to the optimal position can be challenging, especially if the archer does not have a friend or coach to tell them where the tip of the arrow is in relationship to the clicker at full draw. There should be about a 4-6 mm difference between the arrow tip and the clicker at full draw.  Consistent draw lengths require precision in alignment, bow arm and anchor point.  If the archer can’t reach their draw length consistently there is a lot of frustration as it will be challenging to expand through the clicker if there is too much distance between the arrow tip and clicker at full draw.

The double clicker training aid provides the necessary auditory feedback so that the archer can consistently achieve the optimal distance between full draw and the clicker going off.  It does this by having two clicker arms approximately 5 mm apart. The first clicker goes off when the archer is at full draw (NTS setup step “transfer and hold”). At that point the archer knows there is only 5 mm left for expansion before the second clicker goes off.  This allows the archer to consistently expand through the clicker.  However, if the archer’s first clicker does not go off at full draw, then the archer will have difficulty “pulling through the clicker”. If the first clicker goes off too soon, the shot may be premature.  In either case the archer will need to either adjust the clicker position or work on having a more consistent draw length.

The double clicker mounts on the sight bar and can be adjust forward or backward.  In addition, once the archer is satisfied with the clicker’s position and function, the first clicker rod can be easily removed and the clicker then function as a standard clicker.
