This is a simple tool to use when drilling holes with a hand held drill to help make sure the drill is held square to the surface. It also works on round stock such as dowels.

To use the tool, simply position it where the hole is to be drilled and hold it down with one hand while drilling with the other. Line up the drill bit with the Vee-notch. It can be used either short side down or long side down as necessary. When drilling round stock, line up one of the vee-notches with the stock as shown in the photos.

Print instructions

I printed in PLA with perimeters set to 4 and 20% grid infill (0% infill would probably work also, but there was no significant print time saving so I didn't bother).

I suggest using a brim - my first test print without one failed.
