For the 2023 and 2024 Solar Eclipse, NASA release a new set of 3D printable pinhole viewers. This time they only released the continental US instead of the states, but this will still be a fun pinhole viewer to use. On their site for this, they have a couple activities for the classroom. One activity here is to punch different size holes into the paper version of this file. But I went to TinkerCAD to modify the STL instead. So on Oct.14th I'll see what the eclipse looks like through different size and sharped holes!

This is the 2023 eclipse viewer, the 2024 viewer will be published next!

Print this in 2 layers with scrap bits of filament for multicolored fun!

(DO NOT STARE AT THE ECLIPSE! USE THIS VIEWER AS DIRECTED ON THE NASA SITE. 3D-PT is not responsible for the use of this print!)

Rozdíly remixu oproti originálu

This is a remix of the 2023 viewer published by NASA for the Annular Solar Eclipse. This is modified based on the Pinhole Projector Activity on their site.

One activity is to see if different pinhole sizes effects the view. The holes in this are 10 mm, 7 mm, 5 mm, 3 mm, and 1 mm. This is in addition to the original 5 mm hole in the center of the viewer.

When the eclipse happens, use this to see what it looks like through larger or smaller holes!
